Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Natural History Library catalogue at rbini.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Lawful Personal Use

The catalogue is provided for lawful, personal, non-commercial enjoyment and study. You may browse, search, download, and read ebooks for your own use. Any commercial redistribution, resale, or systematic reproduction of substantial portions of the catalogue requires prior written permission from the Collection Editor.

Prohibited Misuse

You agree not to:

  • Use the catalogue for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
  • Attempt to interfere with the proper functioning of the site, including introducing malware, overloading servers, or disrupting access for other users.
  • Engage in automated extraction, scraping, or data mining of catalogue content without explicit written consent.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with the Library.

Automated Access and Interference

Automated tools, bots, crawlers, or scripts that systematically retrieve catalogue data are not permitted unless expressly authorized. We monitor traffic patterns and reserve the right to block or suspend any access that we reasonably believe is harmful to the site's operation or violates these terms.

Bibliographic and Transcription Limitations

The ebooks in this catalogue are digital transcriptions of historical works. While we strive for accuracy, transcriptions may contain errors introduced by scanning, OCR, or editorial processes. Bibliographic metadata is provided as a guide and may not reflect the most current scholarship. We make no representation that any work is complete, unaltered, or identical to the original print edition.

Copyright and Public-Domain Status

We label ebooks based on our understanding of their copyright status, primarily drawing from sources that indicate works are in the public domain in many jurisdictions. However, copyright laws vary by country, and the public-domain status of a work may differ depending on local rules, such as the rule of the shorter term or the date of the author's death. It is your responsibility to verify the legal status of any ebook before using it in a manner that requires copyright clearance. Some works may include new editorial content, introductions, or annotations that are subject to copyright; where this is the case, we note it in the catalogue entry.

User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for your use of the catalogue and any consequences that arise from it. You acknowledge that ebooks may contain historical viewpoints, language, or illustrations that are outdated, biased, or offensive. They are presented for scholarly and historical context and do not reflect the views of the Library or its editor.

Third-Party Links

The catalogue may contain links to external websites or resources. We do not endorse or assume responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party site. Accessing such links is at your own risk.

Technical Availability

We aim to keep the catalogue accessible, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. The site may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or events beyond our control. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the catalogue without notice.

Editorial Notes and Presentation

Ebooks are accompanied by editorial notes, reading companions, and contextual essays created by the Collection Editor. These materials represent the editor's research and interpretation and are provided to enrich the reader's experience. They are not peer-reviewed academic publications and should not be treated as definitive sources.

Rights-Holder Notices

If you believe that any content on the catalogue infringes your copyright or other rights, please contact the Collection Editor at editor@rbini.com with a detailed description. We will review and address legitimate concerns promptly.

Warranty Disclaimer

The catalogue and all content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of the catalogue.

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall the Natural History Library, its editor, or affiliates be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the use or inability to use the catalogue, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. This limitation applies to all claims, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory.

Suspension of Abusive Access

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to any user who violates these terms, engages in abusive behavior, or whose actions could harm the catalogue or other users. Suspension may occur without prior notice if we deem it necessary to protect the integrity of the site.

Service Changes

We may change, add, or remove features of the catalogue at any time. We will endeavor to provide notice of significant changes through the site, but are not obligated to do so. These terms may be revised accordingly, and your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms of Use is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.

For questions or concerns regarding these terms, please contact the Collection Editor at editor@rbini.com.
